ABOUT LOLO
My love for minerals began in 2005, the first time I stepped into a mine in my home state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I was instantly captivated—not just by the crystals, but by the thrill of discovery. I’d spend days on the road exploring small towns, sitting with miners, and absorbing their stories and wisdom. It was never just about the stones—it was the adventure, the people, and the connection to nature.
But the roots of this passion run deeper. As a child, I watched my father and godfather—featured in Mineral Collections of Brazil—run a mine in Ouro Preto and a gem business called Geogemas. I still remember the awe I felt looking at the specimens in my dad’s office.
When I arrived in the U.S. in 2008, I headed straight to the Tucson Gem Show. Though life took me in different directions, minerals always called me back. After a few years of stagnation, I once had a vivid, beautiful dream urging me to return to them—and I did. I began working again with trusted dealers, sourcing inventory, and running a small wholesale operation, selling at local markets and stores in San Diego—all while balancing other jobs and growing a different business. In 2021, I became a GIA-certified Gemologist, which deepened my knowledge and opened doors to even more meaningful connections in the industry.
Today, I’m proud to run my business independently—handpicking the finest minerals and gems from around the world and sharing them with collectors, creatives, and seekers. This isn’t just a business. It’s a reflection of who I am and the lifelong love I have for nature’s wild beauty. Even after all these years, a part of me is still that 21-year-old girl, standing in the dust of her first mine—heart racing, eyes wide with wonder—unaware she was stepping into a lifelong love story with the earth itself.
